After moving to the Western North Carolina Mountains in 2004, Senior Leaders Rick and Debra Jack started attending New Covenant Church in Clyde, NC. Knowing that God had called them to pioneer a church in the area, they became linked with Dr. Frank Harvey, Brian Cagle, Richard Marcello and Pastor Nick Honercamp of New Covenant Church. They served as needed at New Covenant Church.
Fast Forward to September 2005. Rick and Deb were praying and heard God say that now was the time to start a church “across the mountains” from their current church in their home town of Leicester. At the same time, a building became available – the old Leicester BP gas station. After going to Dr. Frank Harvey, they not only received permission to begin a work, but were sent out with financial support and prophetic direction, as were the apostles in the book of Acts.
After much renovation, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship opened its doors the first Sunday of November 2005. The church continued to grow and quickly approached critical attendance with 50 members.
In 2007 our apostle, Dr. Frank Harvey from Christian Life Ministries, confirmed through a word of prophecy that NBCF would need to make a move to a larger facility. Being a successful church leader and managing 3 upward moves at New Covenant Church of Clyde, NC, we carefully and prayerfully considered this word. In Late 2007, Leaders Joshua Jack and Lucas Jack were attending a Worship Summit where a close church friend and mentor, Brian Cagle, stated that a move should be eminent.
At that time, we began to prayerfully consider the location and the timing for this upcoming move. In February of 2008, a God-given opportunity opened up and New Beginnings Christian Fellowship began plans to upfit a commercial/business space for our new facilities.
As we are growing, we are looking for land to build a new facility that fits with the vision of the church and the community of Asheville/Leicester.
