Each month, we release a list of “prayer points” to guide churchwide prayer and intercession. We invite you to join us in praying for these specific areas (listed below).
The start of a new year is a perfect opportunity to inventory your life and rededicate every area of your life to Christ and His will. We encourage you to set aside days to pray, fast, seek, and listen intently.
1. Thank God For Your Blessings
You can get so caught up in achieving your goals and forget to thank God for how far he’s brought you. Philippians 4:16 says we should pray with
thanksgiving. As you make your requests known to God, thank him for what he’s already done for you.
2. Guard Against Fear
Fear is a spirit (2 Timothy 1:7) and when you feel it influencing you, cast it out. For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control. Pray for a renewal of hope.
3. Declare God’s Word Over Your Life
Effective prayer includes declaring the word of God over your life. God’s word contains God’s will. God’s word is like a double-edged sword that defeats your enemy with finality.
No weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
The work of your hands is blessed (Deuteronomy 28:12)
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13)
